Precertification/Preauthorization Inquiries: If you need information regarding preauthorization/precertification, please call the 'Inpatient Precertification' or 'Outpatient Prenotification' telephone number listed on the back of the member's identification card.

For correspondence about claims submissions:
- Providers outside the CareFirst service area (MD, DC and portions of northern VA) submit all claims and correspondence to your local Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plan.
- Providers within the CareFirst service area (MD, DC and portions of northern VA) submit claims and correspondence to:
