Announcing Monthly Statements

At CFA, our members are at the heart of everything we do.  That is why we continually strive to find ways that enable us to better serve our members.  CFA is also committed to finding ways to help save the environment.  With these things in mind, we are pleased to announce that we are moving to a Monthly EOB Summary Statement.

If you are currently receiving paper explanations of benefits (EOBs) mailed by CFA, you will no longer be receiving them after November 2011. Instead, you will receive something even better – a Monthly EOB Summary Statement. The new statement will clearly explain how much is paid, to whom, and for what. It will be easy to understand AND good for the environment by reducing paper waste.

What is a Monthly EOB Summary Statement?
A Monthly Summary Statement is a new report from CFA that shows the medical and dental benefits paid to providers on your behalf over a 30-day period.  The report is clear, making it easy to understand what your benefits paid and what you paid.

What Does the New Monthly EOB Summary Statement Look Like? - View Sample Statement
The Monthly Summary looks identical to the EOB that you receive today except that it will list each EOB generated on your behalf during a 30-day period in one monthly statement. With the first Monthly EOB Summary Statement, you will receive a How to Read Your Monthly Summary Statement that answers questions that you may have.

Who Gets the Statements?
If you get EOBs by mail now, you will be mailed a Monthly Summary Statement instead.  During the month of December, you will not be receiving paper EOBs, even if you have claims that are paid in the month of December.  Instead, you will receive your first Monthly EOB Summary Statement in January 2012 that will list each EOB generated during the month of December on one statement.

You will only receive a statement if you have claims paid to providers over the period it covers.

What Happens to EOBs?
You can still see your EOBs online by accessing My CFA Account at www.cfablue.com.  You can view and print an EOB anytime you need one.

Catch the Green Spirit!
If you get in the spirit, you can eventually sign up to stop mailings and view everything online.  This feature will be available in 2012.

We value the opportunity to continue working with you and to serve you.
